Iran-Kazakhstan ties to enter new phase

TEHRAN, Nov. 02 (MNA) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Affairs Hassan Ghashghavi noted Iran and Kazakhstan’s ample capacity for cooperation and ensured their ties will enter a new phase with the implementation of signed agreements.

Ghashghavi made the remarks in a meeting with Erlan Abilfayizuly Idrissov, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in Astana on Tuesday.

In the meeting, the two sides studied the ways to expand mutual cooperation and implementation of agreements between the two countries.

Gashghavi, referring to the recent visit of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to Tehran, underlined the need for implementation of agreements reached earlier this year with the aim of improving relations.

Idrissov also pointed to the development of relations between the two countries and stressed the need to resolve the current problems with the aim of facilitating trade and economic relations.

Kazakh FM expressed satisfaction with the results of the Joint Consular Commission, and reiterated Kazakhstan’s readiness to implement the finalized agreements.

He described that the implementation of the provisions of signed MoU would facilitate the expansion of trade and tourism between Iran and Kazakhstan.

Ghashghavi also met with Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Bektas Beknazarov on Tuesday.

The two sides highly regarded the role of parliaments in promoting bilateral political and economic cooperation and interactions and underlined the need to enhance the exchange of parliamentary delegations between the two countries.

Iran and Kazakhstan held the 7th session of their joint consular committee on Monday in Kazakh capital Astana, at the level of deputy foreign ministers, which was attended by representatives from the two countries’ consular departments of foreign ministry, law enforcement and judicial authorities.
